Compaq Armada m700 Boot Issue (laptop)?

ok i hold seen this adjectives over the place it apears that the compaq laptops do this often... I hold yet to find a adjectives answer...

ok my laptop says on boot...

1782 Disk Controller Faillure

after after that it says.

Non-system Disk or disk error

very soon i know that it is not the hdd because i have tested it surrounded by another laptop.

From what i have read it is a BIOS error... more spacificly a CMOS error...

I enjoy reset the CMOS by removing the RTC and that did nothing. I I even removed adjectives of the media divices on the laptop. IE the modem and the CDrom.

I really stipulation to get this laptop up and running i involve it for school. if any one could support i would really apriceat it.

Answer:

Can you get the laptop to boot from a disc?

The thing that comes to mind for me is that the Disk Controller have failed, and if it is a hardware dead loss then it's a portion of the main board. (chipset)

Trying to boot from the disc drive, with a Windows disk to do a scan or even repair of the OS install.
