Cracked laptop Screen: Need to replace cracked blind for Dell Inspirion 1000.?

I be given a Dell Inspirion 1000 with a cracked peak. Btw, I opened it up to look for serial numbers and to see if I could disassemble (and curious). This is what the vertebrae of the LCD looks like: http://www.fuelefficiency.org/laptop/lap...



I call Dell and they will not sell me the chunk. They want to send me a box, and for me to roughly send them the laptop and $358. Where can I achieve a good deal on this bit? How can I be sure I get the right cut? (There are 5 serial no. tags on the hindmost; see photos.)

Well the part is if truth be told and probably made by Dell. So the only place you probably can achieve it is from Dell.
