Offhand, sounds resembling a pretty good contract. You can go to Lenovo's site and price out a Thinkpad near the exact same specs and see how much it costs brand new.
Note that the 3 year warranty is pretty nice; that alone is going on for $150 upgrade I believe.
If you can, obtain the serial number from the peddler. From there, you can truly call IBM's Thinkpad scientific support and see how much of that three year warranty is actually vanished.
Thinkpads are great laptops (I have an elder T43). But they do carry somewhat of a price premium. If you don't necessitate the best, you can probably get something similar for the smaller quantity money, or get more for matching money. Maybe---you need to do some research to be sure.
